2011 Honda Civic Euro-Spec Exposed
3rd July 2011
From these photos it looks like the next Civic (Euro spec at least) is going to draw inspiration from the Honda Open Study Model Concept that was recently unveiled. It also looks like Honda has taken some styling cues from the VW Scirocco. Some current Honda Civic styling elements are also going to carry over as well, such as the trademark single strip light cluster at the rear, but the split rear screen has been dropped to improve visibility. The three-door and five-door models are also going to become more distinct with the five-door being aimed more at small families with its taller roofline and softer suspension.
The redesigned 2006 Honda Civic adds additional safety, performance and refinement with all Civics receiving the following new equipment: Side-curtain airbags, front-seat side airbags, Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, 4-channel ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution, active front-seat head restraints, increased horsepower, instrument panel gauges near the windshield, and telescoping steering wheel. Coupe and Sedan versions are powered by a more powerful and more fuel-efficient 140-horsepower 1.8-liter SOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine. The Civic Si is powered by a 197-horsepower 2.0-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine mated with a 6-speed manual transmission and features a helical-type limited slip differential, a rear deck spoiler, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Hybrid mileage depended on a number of factors. I would lose 3 mpg with snow tires in the winter, barely making it to 45 mpg. In the summer, with the AC off, I hit a record (for me) of 58 mpg during a 100 mile round trip to work. But typically, I could keep it above 50 mpg if I was paying attention to it. If not, The mileage would drop 3 or 4 mpg. A/C seems to cost you 1 mpg. Oh, and all the above numbers are from the indication on the fuel computer. But in reality, when I’d fuel it up and check the numbers, the actual fuel burn was 1.5 mpg BETTER than what the built in fuel computer said. No maintenance issues at all after 70K so far. Mine has the NAV unit, but I think I’d just go with a Garmin if I had it to do over. Nav works fine and is much more intuitive than the Toyota version, but it’s not worth $2,000.
Larger, more powerful, more expensive, and more refined, the Civic sedan easily is the best in this segment at this moment. The four-cylinder engine with either the 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic work well together. However, the engine gets quite loud when acceleration demands are accentuated. Other than that this is a fairly quiet ride. Braking and steering are exceptional for the price. Overall a marked improvement with room for four and hybrid like fuel mileage, but not a speed merchant.
The interior is very iPodish with boldly colored gauges and a digital speedometer that can’t be ignored tucked just below the very steeply racked windshield. The automatic transmission dulls the reaction of the 140-hp engine, but still provides excellent economy seldom going below 30 mpg. We averaged about 34 in mixed driving. The 60/40 fold down rear seats of our EX test car expanded the trunk space, but there wasn’t as much room as the Toyota Prius. Honda did the right thing by providing standard side curtain airbags and ABS which are reassuring in smaller vehicles. You can even order a hotrod Si coupe with a 197 horsepower engine if you want to tempt the highway gods. Overall, I liked the Civic, but would go with the standard transmission.
The Honda Civic is a line of subcompact and subsequently compact cars made and manufactured by Honda. The Civic, along with the Accord and Prelude, comprised Honda’s vehicles sold in North America until the 1990s, when the model lineup was expanded. Having gone through several generational changes, the Civic has become larger and more upmarket, and it currently slots between the Fit and Accord.
New Civic, already so as it used to be, take more compared to his predecessors nice couple of kilo in addition. Weight stopped on 1338 kg, which definitely isn’t little for vehicle type gull. In comparison with others “works” vehicles, dependent on overfill??fan motors, at first ride it seems a little lazy. Zespoda simply new car, especially when with him handle, like with normal by car. Only when understand, that the you must motor any time turn best?? about 1000 turns higher, than wont, Civic a little will revive. A in that sometime, when push back really sadly on gas, reveal his magic. With three spun to red field will fly after district high up above unstrung limit (pst) and yell motor you will ring in one’s ears yet long after stopping.
The latest Honda Civic comes highly recommended thanks to its clever interior, sharp design and wide range of models. It is also the most radically designed Civic to date, inside and out. For small car shoppers looking for a used vehicle, the Civic is again a smart choice, as its long production run and wide range of models make it easy to find what you want.
Current Honda Civic
The Honda Civic is available as a coupe or sedan. Both styles share five main trim levels: base DX, LX, EX, EX-L and Si. The sedan also features DX Value Package, LX-S, Hybrid and GX trim levels. All trims get a broad range of safety features, such as antilock brakes, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. In terms of premium features, the DX is pretty limited, and you’ll have to jump up to the higher trims to get amenities such as air-conditioning and power accessories.

Honda Civic covers alot features some of them considerable are that it has very powerful AC, Remote opener for fuel lid, low fuel warning, Power windows, Air bags, power steering with a turning radius 5.4 m, elecronic assisted rack steering gear, ventilated disc front break, disk rear break.

Reports show that Honda Motor Co. has raised its expectations for its annual profit figures despite its enormous fall last year. Clearly, Japanese car company’s latest figures exceed great expectations from the market, zoning in on various U.S. markets to meet these new figures.
During the last quarter of year 2010, Honda Motors Co. has reported a staggering 29 percent fall at only $1.5 billion. Its previous reported yearly earnings were somewhere around 177 billion yen with an average of about 110 billion yen. According to Reuters, the figures were studied by seven financial analysts.
Competitor Nissan Motor Co. ran past Honda Motors Co. The latter ranked as the third largest car company in Japan in 2010. Today, Honda raised its operations profit expectations from 500 billion yen to 620 billion yen in its March 31 time table. Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S’s team of analysts made a forecast that Honda would reap in profits of around 594 billion yen. Therefore, the car company raised their net profit forecasts from 500 billion yen to 530 billion yen.
Amazingly, Honda’s expected profits in the span of nine months have exceeded the figures outlook for an entire year.
Due to the price hike for raw materials and the end of financial support for eco-friendly brand models, it is expected that Japanese car companies would report a painful downfall in the figures of its last quarter profits. Despite these forecasts, these companies have already taken deliberate actions in terms of cost-cutting and efficiency in manufacturing process and activities to counter these incoming challenges in the automobile industry.
